Technical FAQ
Why does my board have poor turning abilities?

The trucks may be too tight. In order to loosen your trucks, use the largest size on your T-tool in and turn the kingpin in a counter-clockwise rotation.

If you board is experiencing wheel-bite, (when the wheels rub against the deck when leaning) be sure that you have the appropriate sized riser pads on your setup and that you are not exceeding the recommended weight limit. Wheel-bite can also occur if your trucks are too loose.

Experiment with your truck tightness to find what works best for you!

Why do my wheels barely spin?
Wheels may not spin well for various reasons. Be sure to check:
  • You have two washers on your truck axle. One washer per side, per wheel.
  • The locking nut for the truck axle is not too tight. If the locking nut is too tight, the wheel will not spin. Use your T-tool to adjust the tightness of your locking nut.

  • Your bearings are not properly installed. Bearings must be flush with the wheel’s core.

  • The bearings are damaged. If your bearings were not installed using proper installation methods, they could easily be damaged and affect the overall performance of the bearing. A common mistake is hammering or pounding in the bearing with a T-Tool. Hammering or pounding will damage the protective shield face on the bearings and interfere with the function of the ball bearings inside.

My board makes a squeaky noise when riding/turning. Is this normal?
The squeaking is perfectly normal. The squeaking comes from the pivot cup. The pivot cup is the insert in between the hangar and the baseplate. The squeaking is caused by the intense friction of the pivot cup, hangar, and baseplate when doing heavy turning. If the noise is not of your preference, some quick fixes include:
  • Cleaning the pivot cup
  • Inserting a small amount of shavings of paraffin wax or a bar of soap into the pivot cup to reduce the actual amount of friction between the pivot cup and hanger.

I’m excited about my new board and combo set that I got in today! The only thing is that I don’t know how to assemble the board. Can you help me?!

Your combo kit should come with an installation instruction sheet. The sheet will tell you proper tools needed for assembly and proper installation steps. If your combo set instruction sheet did not come with your combo kit send us an email, and we can email you a copy.

If you are still having difficulty with proper installation, give us a call between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM PST to speak with a Yocaher Team member. We will be more than glad to walk you through this process.

I’m having difficulty deciding which style of board is the perfect for me. Can you help me decide what would fit best for me?

You can refer to our homepage about the details of each different shape of board. If those descriptions are not sufficient enough to help you decide what is best for you, feel free to contact us.

We are excited to get you going! Give us a call and let us help you choose what is best for you!

My light-up longboard wheels won’t light up. What’s wrong with them?
Yocaher Light-up wheels will light up only when riding or spinning. The mechanism that produces energy for the LED lights works with friction. If your locking nut is too tight, or if your bearings are not installed properly, this may interfere with the friction that is needed to light up the wheels. Check your tightness, and check your bearings.
I just started riding my new board and it’s defective. Do I get an exchange or refund?

If your item is defective, we will do our best to get you back on your wheels!

Refer to our return policy about defects and contact us if you have any further questions or would like to submit a review for your return/exchange.

If you believe something is defective with your product, but not entirely sure what the issue is, contact us so we can run you through a few steps to help solve your problem. At times, the item issue is small and fixable with a few quick adjustments.

All four wheels don’t touch the ground. What is going on with my complete board?

When all four wheels don’t touch the ground, it is possible that your deck is warped and is considered defective; for this instance, contact us and we will fix your order based on our return policy.

Another common reason all wheels don’t touch the ground is because of the tightness on your trucks. If the tightness of your trucks is different from each other, this could cause the wheels to be unbalanced. Make sure that your wheels are balanced before riding safely.

If you are unsure if you’re board is warped or defective, contact us.

How do I install my skateboard rails?
Every set of rails come with a set of mounting screws. It is recommended to use a power drill for easy installation. If you are missing the mounting screws, contact us and we will get you what you deserve!
